I have made some progress on “Crystal Nights” this month; not quite as much as I hoped, but better than my minimum goal. We have had unstable, cloudy weather much of the time, and I just write much faster when I can sit outside our cottage.
But here is a contribution from Sunday, one of the best writing days I have had for a long time:
There was no gravel on this side of the building, but plenty of dry twigs on the ground. Death traps, Lars-Ole called them, and Niels had no intention of falling into one if he could help it.

Dorte – You continue to intrigue me with those sentences you share from your novel. I’m so eager to read it!
Margot took the words right out of my mouth. The more teasers you give us, the more I want to read it.
Dorte: About 6 years ago I had to write three long written arguments for some Indian land claims. Feeling sorry that I was missing summer in the office I spent many afternoons on the deck of my house writing the arguments. It was much nicer. With the aid of a researcher in Ottawa we wrote an argument of 100 pages, an argument of 200 pages and an argument of 300 pages. Hope you have many more nice summer days writing outside.
Dorte, I love the header picture you have up now. Just the way I imagine your part of the world.
Margot: small wonder I am interested in young characters right now 😉
Kelly: I promise I´ll do what I can to have it ready next summer – but I am only halfway through the first draft.
Bill: according to the weatherman the next few weeks should be better, and right now we have had two sunny days in a row so I´ll remember to count my blessings.
Barbara: well, my part depends on your perspective. The pictures are from Scotland, but I used them because they were the cosiest photos I could find 🙂
